Almond contains antioxidant flavonoids that counteract the body from free radical attack.
Furthermore, almonds are also beneficial when consumed in liquid form. Consuming almonds also reduces body fat, waist size and excess fluid.
A total of 65 people who are overweight and obesity were included in the study. Almond diet also helps to lower body mass index up to 62 percent, a greater decline than a diet of complex carbohydrates.
Despite being healthy and all, almond consumption should not be excessive. It still contains calories and fat even though not as much as you would find in animal protein. Nutrition expert Amanda Hamilton advised to eat no more than one almond handful hands every day, and serve as a healthy snack. Almond milk, which is not given additional ingredients other than water provide the same nutrients as whole almonds. But to get the benefit of more fiber, almonds should be consumed as a whole.
